Manage your recording sessions

Every recording is kept as a session on your Mac, with everything you made from it. Open Sessions in illuminate's sidebar to find them.

Find and reopen a session

  1. Choose Sessions in the sidebar.
  2. Search, or narrow the list by State and Mode.
  3. Click a session to open it, with its reports and other outputs. Nothing is processed again.

No sessions yet? Make a recording and it appears here.

Rename a session

Right-click the session, choose Rename…, type the name and choose Rename. Leave it empty to use the report's or document's title.

Find its files

Right-click the session and choose Show in Finder. To see or move the whole folder, see Where recordings live.

Move a session to the Trash

  1. Right-click the session and choose Move to Trash… (or use the trash button on its row).
  2. Choose Move to Trash.

The session and everything made from it go to the macOS Trash, so you can restore them from Finder.

Links you've shared stay online. Trashing a session doesn't take its link down. To remove a link, use your account.

If a session didn't finish

If illuminate quit or your Mac restarted while a recording was processing, Sessions shows it at the top under needs attention. Resume Editing… opens it so you can choose what it becomes, just as right after recording. Show in Finder shows its files, and Delete… moves it to the Trash.
