Share a recording
Every share gives you your link: one address at share.illu.mov that you send to people. It opens a page with the video, the summary and steps, the transcript, and reactions. It works without an account and on any device.
The link to send
When you share, illuminate copies your link straight away and the Your link card says Copied. Paste it wherever you're talking: Slack, email, an issue, a doc.
Under it you'll see a Video file. That's what plays inside your link (a Vimeo video, a file in your own R2 bucket, or on Pro a file we host). You rarely need to send it on its own: the link gives people the video plus everything around it.
What a link can carry
- The video, with chapters and the transcript beside it.
- A walkthrough: the steps as screenshots that zoom to what you clicked. Add it next to the video, or send it on its own with no video at all. See Walkthroughs.
- The full report, with its screenshots where they belong. See Share a report.
- The PDF and the agent package, for people and AI agents who want the files.
Where the video lives
- On Free, the video plays from storage you own: your Cloudflare R2 bucket or your Vimeo account, set up once in Settings → Storage. A new Vimeo video can look soft for a few minutes while Vimeo finishes processing; the page says so for the first five minutes.
- On Pro, we host the video. Upload once from the app, with no R2 or Vimeo account needed, and viewers can download it. If you've connected Vimeo, Pro still uses Vimeo unless you choose otherwise.
How long links last
Free links last up to 90 days, and you can extend them from your account or from the reminder email before they expire. Pro links can last as long as you like, or never expire.
Your links
All your links are in your account at account.illu.mov/links: views, reactions, folders, and the switches for each link (reactions, embedding, downloads on Pro). Removing a link takes the page down at once. The recording stays on your Mac.
